There are some fun activity areas that you can use around Pilgrim Pines Camp.

You and your group will be in charge of bringing any items needed for any of these areas.

We will have sign- up sheets on the office door, and you will be able to schedule time

to use the common spaces, like camp fire and volleyball court.

There are several hikes that begin at camp!

The Helicopter Pad Hike requires a watchful eye for snakes and other wild life, and is rewarded with beautiful views of Arrowhead, Baldy and Wilson to the north andwest, or of San Jacinto and the Palomar Mountains to the south. The pad is a real helicopter fire-fighting pick-up and drop-off point!

The Creek (Waterfall) Hike lets us commune with the source of all life on our planet, and get a cold splash of it when you arrive at the falls at the top. Along the way, we can learn how the camp’s water system works to deliver some of the cleanest water in the southlands.

Lastly but not leastly, actually we say beastly--there is the Bear Trail. This trail
was created by bears moving down from the mountains into the valley to feast on apples. It traverses the canyon, high above camp and goes through giant oaks, fragrant Sage, pointy Yucca and three microclimates! This rugged hike requires
expert leaders for success. But the adventure is rewarding!

Oak Glen offers many other hikes too. The Wildlands Conservancy has trailsamong its ponds, orchards and many tree species. Many of the tallest trees in the conservancy were planted by one of camp’s founders. That area of the Conservancy is great for a hike, or an overnight campout.

The archeology, microclimates, plants and animals have much to show hikers about the Serrano and Cahuilla peoples who summered here, about the miners who followed searching for gold and about the farmers who today grow apples and other crops using water that flows cold and clean from the heart of the mountain above camp.

We have a beautiful campfire for use.  Bring s'mores supplies and maybe even a guitar for a fun time at the camp fire!

Come enjoy a peaceful meditative walk in our camp's labyrinth or sit on one of the benches and enjoy the view.  A beautiful spot for rest and restoration.

A sand volleyball court is available for use.  Please bring your own volleyball.

Field of Dreams is a large grass field where you can play soccer, throw around a frisbee and enjoy other fun field games. (Bring your own equipment and balls)

We encourage you to bring cards, board games, books and art supplies. You can request a table and chairs to be set up on your cabin porch to be able to relax and enjoy nature.
